Please note that if you are requesting testing accommodations you are still responsible for meeting ALL requirements and deadlines for the bar examination and you are held to the same Standard of Candor as the Certified Statement of Candidate for the Committee on Character.

OVERVIEW OF STEPS TO REQUEST NON-STANDARD TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS

1. Read the Non-Standard Testing Accommodations (NTA) Instructions carefully.

2. Print the following:

      a. Non-Standard Testing Accommodations (NTA) Application - REQUIRED for all NTA applicants.

      b. NTA Certificate of Medical or Psychological Authority (see specific instructions noted on NTA application).

      c. NTA Certificate of Law School Official (not required if submitted within the past three years).

      d. NTA Authorization and Release.

3. Complete the application and submit by encrypted email (preferred) or by MAIL. Instructions for submitting your application via encrypted email are provided on the application form.

4. You must keep a copy of all items submitted.  If mailing, send your completed application with all documentation to:

NJ Board of Bar Examiners
PO BOX 973
Trenton, NJ 08625

For FEDEX, UPS, et al.:
NJ Board of Bar Examiners

It is recommended that applicants request a return receipt regardless of the carrier used. You will not be notified by our office indicating that your NTA application has been received. Use the tracking information provided by the carrier to track receipt of the envelope. If you submit your application via encrypted email, a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application will be emailed to you at the e-mail address you have provided in Admission Manager.

The NTA Application and NTA Authorization and Release forms MUST BE submitted even if you are not required to submit the NTA Certificate of Law School Official or the NTA Certificate of Medical or Psychological Authority because you qualify as a prior applicant requesting the same accommodation that was granted in New Jersey within the last three years.

ALL documentation must be received by the application deadline for your application to be processed. Detailed information can be found on our Non-Standard Testing Accommodations application instructions page. Please read all instructions before you complete your application. Questions regarding the NTA application process should be sent to: barada.mailbox@njcourts.gov
